Diary July 1912

July 1:   Washed in the morn.  Fooled around in the afternoon.  Geo. and Tillie and Clifford still here.  Ruth and Japs folks came over in the eve.  To bed at 10-30. 

July 2:  Ironed in the morn.  Geo. folks went to town.  Sewed a little in the afternoon.  Clifford here.  To bed at 9.

July 3:  Did up the work.  Anna came home.  Harris came up.  Harry came and stayed all night.   To bed at 9-30.

July 4:  Emma, Jim and I went to town early.  Went to Alecks then downtown to the dinner with Hendersons up to Alecks for supper.  Down to the dance hall in the eve.  To bed at 2.

July 5:  Ruth, Myrtle and Eva here a while in the morn. Took a nap in the afternoon.  To bed at 8.

July 6:  Did up the work.  Ruth and Jermayne here in the afternoon.  To bed at 9.

July 7:   Sunday went to Sunday School in the morn.  Stella and Velma here for dinner.  The folks went to Japs.  Jim came in the afternoon went over to Japs  toward eve.  Emma went to church with Rupert Hawkins. Came home at 10 to bed at 12.

July 8:  Washed in the morn.  Harris here in the eve.  To bed at 8-30.

July 9:  Ironed.  Stella and Velma here in the morn.  Maude and the kids came in the afternoon.  Had a hooper of a rain.  To bed at 9.

July 10:  Did up the work.  Sewed in the afternoon.  Mama and Daddy went to town.  Fred and Emma went over to Japs in the eve.  Had Ice cream.  To bed at 9.

July 11:  Washed a little in the morn.   Stella and Velma came in the afternoon and we made their hats.   Had Ice cream and lots of fun.  To bed at 8-45.

July 12:  Ironed did not do much of anything.  Clayton kids here in the eve.  To bed at 9-20.

July 13: Did up the work.  Mattie and the kids here all day.  Anna, Fred and Harry went to Jacobs dance.  To bed at 9.

July 14:  Sunday, went to SS in the morn.  Japs and Harris were here.   Minnie, Jim and I went to church in Bethal in the afternoon.   Alberts came down.   Emma went to church.  Anna to Teds.  I stayed home to bed at 11-45.

July 15:  Did not do much of anything all day.  Stella, Velma and Lottie, Maggie, Leona, Lisle and Ruth were here in the eve.   Had some fun.  To bed at 10.

July 16:  Washed in the morn.  Not much of anything in the afternoon.  To bed at 90.

July 17:  Ironed.  Went to town in the afternoon.  Fred went away.  Vern Morris went with him.  They went to Minn or Dak.  I don’t know which.  Emma went over to Ruths.  To bed at 8-30.

July 18:  Picked berries in the morn.  Put them up and helped Mama in the afternoon.  Emma, Lydia and I went down to Birkses in the eve.  The boys went to Minn.  To bed at 10-30.

July 19:  Rained all morn.  Emma, Lydia, Frances and I went down to Teds in the afternoon.  To bed at 8.

July 20:  Done up the work.  Daddy went to town.  Intended to go to the Owenses party but it rained.

July 21:  We girls drove to Sunday School in the morn.  Hez, Jim and I went down to Teds for dinner.  Took Hez home in the afternoon.  Came home went up to Esta’s in the eve Mattie was there.  Emma, Gladys  and Rubert went to church.  To bed at 12.

July 22:  Anna came home.  Washed in the morn.  Emma was sick. To bed at 9.

July 23:  Ironed.  Ruth here a little while.  Esta, Ruth and Mattie here in the afternoon. To bed at 9.

July 24:  Rained in the morn.  Anna went up to Maudes.  Daddy went to town.  In the eve Ruth,  Emma,  Anna,  Harry,  Jermayne and I went up in Knausses orchard and ate green apples.  Had some fun along the road coming home.  Emma and I slept in the hammock a little while.  To bed at 11.

July 25:  Emma, Lydia, Dad and I went to town.  Dad went to Co. Bluffs.  Us girls went to Battle Creek started on the 8-30 train got there at 2.  Went out in the auto.  Fooled around.  To bed at 9-10.

July 26:  Fooled around. Mrs. Bailey, Laura, Mary Pike and Erma Mc Quillen  were here in the afternoon.  To bed at 10-30.

July 27:  It rained in the morn.  Went to the mail box.  Played with the kids.  Eddie, Fred, Elmer, Laura Bailey and Mary Pike were here in the eve.  Played card and told fortunes had lots of fun.  To bed at 1-10.

July 28:  Sunday Fooled around .  Alma Kruse, Louise Rankins, and two neighbor girls came over in the afternoon.  Then all of us went up to Baileys.  Had a nice time played games. The boys, Eddie, Fred and Elmer came  home with us. Had some fun.  To bed at 12.

July 29:  Started home, Mr Bailey took us to town in the car.  Anna and Frances came after us. Was tired to bed at 9-15.

July 30:  Washed in the morn.  Sewed a little in the afternoon.  Harry Razee is working here. To bed at 9 o’clock.

July 31:  Ironed in the morn.  Mattie and Frank here.  Jim came over and we all went down to Logan to the Band Concert.  Stayed for the dance a little while.  Took Hez home.  Then came out here.  To bed at 2-12.
